SIP Calculator Formula
The mathematical formula used by SIP calculators is:
M = P × ({[(1 + i)^n - 1] / i}) × (1 + i)
M=Maturity amount or estimated returns
P=Monthly SIP amount
n=Number of months
i=Periodic rate of interest (Annual Rate / 12 / 100)
Example of SIP Calculation
Let's say you invest ₹1,000 per month for 12 months at an expected annual return of 12%.
P=₹1,000
n=12 months
i=12% / 12 / 100 = 0.01
Plugging these into the formula, your total invested amount is ₹12,000, and the maturity amount after 1 year comes out to approximately ₹12,809.
